About REG

REG offers a one-stop shop service to you as a rural business, seeking to sustain your competitiveness into the future.

If you are an existing rural business or if you are considering setting up a new enterprise, you can call on a team of advisers with particular expertise in areas such as agricultural diversification and rural tourism.

So, whether you simply need some information or you require more detailed assistance with your project, the team will be able to help.

When you contact the REG team, your project ideas will be discussed with a member of the team. If you simply require information and details of which organisation is best suited to assist you, these will be provided.

If your project requires more detailed assistance such as access to grant aid, business planning or marketing assistance, you will be assigned an adviser who will oversee the entire project.

After an initial consultation visit by an adviser, an action plan will be drawn up detailing what both yourself and the adviser needs to do as the next steps.

There are many partner organisations that the REG team work with, many of whom can offer more specialist advice to you, often also free of charge. Where appropriate, the adviser will arrange for these organisations to become involved in your project.

Other paid specialist skills such as architects, planners or environmental experts may be brought in also and subsidised through the REG project.

As your project progresses, you may also like a visit by a Rural Skills Broker who can assess your training needs and help access the right training to support your business development, often at subsidised rates.
